PROJECT: Practice, Practice, Practice! Week Four
WEEK FOUR
OCTOBER 8 to OCTOBER 14, 2017
I'm a week late for week 4. I did the piece a week later on 10/22/17 (which is the 5th week). But, I'm slowly catching up so that's good!
For this week's project, I wanted to do something fun. I realized that I had a lot of film for my instant camera and was bored so one thing lead to another. I wasted a packet of film on random photos. But I was able to create my own reference photos which is nice and different for me since I usually Google my reference photos. I choose this picture below because I liked the ombre effect on the sky.
Originally, I wanted to do this piece in black and white to work on my pen skills (adding value and stuff with black ink). But as I was getting my art supplies to work on this piece, I realized that I haven't used watercolors for awhile and watercolor is something I been wanting to get better at. (Though, I do wish I used watercolor paper instead of my sketchbook paper).
As you can see from the image below, watercolors are not my strong suit at all. I struggle with blending and using too much water. Still need to work on fine lines. Time for a new brush! :D
I realized I didn't do this for week 3's post... Oh well.
Pros: What I liked about the piece

Pros: What I liked about the piece
- It was fun playing with watercolor again
- I like the sky (kind of)
- The birdie!!!
Cons: What I didn't like about the piece
- The bottom part with the tress could've been better
- The wires were too thick
- Messy/sloppy
- I didn't wait for anything to dry so a lot of the colors got mixed and messed up
There's a lot I need to work on. Like a lot. It's a great lesson to know how I can improve myself for next time. I got more ideas of what I want to try to watercolor next so hopefully, I can get better!
Until next time ––
Bye!!
